本校はインディアナ州ブルーミントン市および近郊に在留している小中学生の児童に対し、週1回日曜3限の日本語による授業を行っています。低学年は国語・生活・図工を、中高学年は国語・理科・総合的学習の時間を学びます。
本校では少人数で体験型学習が多いのが特徴で、駐在員のお子さんも、アメリカで生まれ育ったお子さんも共に学ぶ学校づくりをしています。
国語では学年が上がるにつれて多様化する日本語習熟度やご家庭での日本語教育の方針も考慮した授業を実施。理科や総合の授業ではメダカ育成や朝顔の栽培、味噌や納豆づくり、バイリンガルの子どもたちの強みを生かしたプロジェクトなどを実施しています。

Japanese Language Classes meet from 9am to noon on Sundays and
consist of Japanese-language, science , and project-based learning (taught in Japanese) for elementary and junior high school students. Our teaching method is a combination of lecture and active learning such as scientific experiments, gardening and community projects.
